The Lawrence City Safety Board approved a one-time professional services agreement with MJJ Recruiting LLC to assist with recruitment for a particular city position.

Human-resources representative Miss Jackson told the board the engagement is a single, one-time contract for a specific hire rather than an open-ended retainer. She explained recruiting firms typically charge a percentage based on salary, and this agreement covers services for the single candidate selection described in the contract.

Board member Lawrence moved approval; Mr. Miller seconded and the motion carried.

Miss Jackson said the city will continue to use its online application processes for other positions and only used MJJ Recruiting for this one vacancy.
