The Candia Highway Department told the Select Board it will begin resurfacing Old Candia Road the week of June 23. The department asked residents to seek alternate routes during that week and warned that there will be traffic-control officers on site and probable delays.

Highway staff said their crews completed spring grading and shoulder work, and will continue roadside mowing and tree/canopy trimming around the town after North Road prep work is finished. The department will begin resurfacing Old Candia Road in late June and expects traffic-management details.

Select board members asked whether brush-cutting and canopy-trimming will be spread around town; staff said trimming will resume after North Road preparations and that contractor Beau Cooper continues to handle larger tree work. The highway department emphasized safety and urged drivers to plan for delays during resurfacing.
