The Town of Milford Zoning Board of Adjustment on June 5 voted to formally seat alternates Kevin Overby and Mike Thornton as full members and reappointed Andrea Coco Chapel as chair and Joan Darje as vice chair.

The motion to seat Kevin Overby and Mike Thornton was made and seconded and carried with the members present voting in favor. The board also voted to keep Andrea Coco Chapel as chair and Joan Darje as vice chair.

The board approved May meeting minutes with edits correcting the next meeting date and clarifying a late arrival; members discussed specific line edits before approving the minutes.

Chair Andrea Coco Chapel used the meeting to publicize vacancies on the ZBA. "We desperately need alternates on the zoning board of adjustment," she said, and encouraged anyone interested to contact Community Development or speak with board members. The board said it needs one additional full member and two alternates to reach its target composition.

The board confirmed its upcoming schedule: the next meeting is June 19; the July 3 meeting is canceled and the following meeting is set for July 17.

Members noted that seating alternates permanently reduces the need to reappoint them at future meetings; the board did not record any competing nominations during the session.
