Stacy Rogers, host of Plano City News, said registration is open for the fall 2025 Plano Citizens Government Academy, a free 10-week course for residents. The academy runs Tuesday nights from Sept. 9 to Nov. 4, with an additional Monday session on Nov. 10. Sessions meet from 6 to 8 p.m. and space is limited. Rogers directed interested residents to apply at plano.gov/citizensacademy. The program is described in the announcement as an opportunity to explore city operations, meet staff and tour key facilities.
