Council approves new Business Park zoning for two industrial areas to boost flexibility for development
Summary
The council approved second-reading zoning changes converting several parcels from light/heavy industrial and agricultural classifications to the new BP (Business Park) zone intended to allow more flexible uses.
Cheyenne city council on Aug. 4 approved on second reading two zoning changes that convert parcels from LI (Light Industrial) and HI (Heavy Industrial) and AG (Agricultural) designations to the recently adopted BP (Business Park) zone. City staff told the council that the BP zone was created with input from economic-development staff (Leads) and planning staff to give more flexibility in recruiting and siting businesses in industrial park locations. One rezoning request covers approximately 419 acres south of Interstate 80 and west of Round Top Road; another parcel located east of South Greeley Highway and north of Chalk Bluff Road was similarly rezoned to BP. There was no public comment at either hearing. Both rezoning ordinances were recommended by the Public Services Committee and approved on second reading.
