Board approves Addendum A settlements and accepts county valuations for absent taxpayers

The Union County Board of Equalization and Review approved staff recommendations listed in Addendum A and accepted county appraisals for several hearings where taxpayers did not appear. The board voted on a motion to accept the staff settlements and carried the motion unanimously. During the meeting the board also took action on hearings where property owners were absent. For Rhonda Helms (parcel 04117029) and Patricia and Dwight Gaddy (parcel 04306011D), the board moved to accept the county values as presented. In one previously tabled case the county reported the taxpayer and staff later agreed on a revised value in writing, which the board noted as settled. Board members reiterated that the board will issue written decisions by statute and reminded attendees of the next scheduled meeting.
