The motion authorized chair signature on contracts with the libraries in Bellevue, Maquoketa, Preston and Sabula. Don Swankert, the board chair, called for the motion and supervisors voted to approve the contracts. “Got a motion by Mike, second by Nin, to approve authorize chair signature on the FY 2026 contract…with the county agreeing to provide library's financial support in the amount of $113,330,” Swankert said as the motion passed.
Why it matters: Supervisors emphasized the value of library services to residents, noting Bellevue’s library improvements and regular use. Mike Stennis encouraged residents to make use of library services and said the facilities are valuable community assets.
