The North Dakota Public Service Commission consolidated Montana-Dakota Utilities’ advanced determination of prudence and certificate applications for the Badger Wind project and scheduled a consolidated hearing Sept. 9 in Bismarck.
The North Dakota Public Service Commission on June 4 consolidated Montana–Dakota Utilities’ applications for an advanced determination of prudence and a certificate of public convenience and necessity for its Badger Wind project and scheduled a consolidated hearing for Sept. 9.
Commissioner Haugenhofer moved to consolidate the cases under North Dakota Administrative Code section 69-02-04-04 and to issue a notice of consolidated hearing; the motion was seconded and approved. The hearing is set for Sept. 9 at 8:30 a.m. Central in the commission hearing room on the 12th floor.
MDU filed an application on Feb. 17 for an advanced determination of prudence for a proposed resource addition representing a 49% ownership interest (122.5 megawatts) of the Badger Wind project currently being constructed in Logan and McIntosh counties. The consolidated proceedings will consider whether MDU’s proposed resource addition is prudent and whether construction and operation of the facilities will serve the public convenience and necessity, and whether MDU is technically, financially and managerially fit to provide the service.
Interested persons may file comments or requests for hearing according to the commission’s notice procedures; if deemed appropriate, the commission may decide the matter without a formal hearing.
