The Holmdel Township Board of Education accepted two retirement notices and approved two grant awards during its consent/action votes.

The board accepted the retirement of English teacher Margaret McDonald, who submitted a notice effective July 1, 2025, and of physical education teacher Deborah Emery, effective Oct. 1, 2025. The retirement resolutions were read into the record and approved by roll call.

The board also accepted a $2,500 grant award from the New York Post designated for Holmdel High School and approved $7,210 in funding through a grant application for optimal comprehensive universal screeners (the “FOCUS” grant). Both grant approvals were read on the agenda and passed on roll call votes with board members recorded in favor.

All three action items (the two retirements and the two grants) passed on roll call votes as presented in the meeting packet; no dissenting votes were recorded for these items in the transcript.
