The Township of Clark appointed Christy Vieira as the townships Chief Municipal Finance Officer on July 21 and she was sworn into the office during the council meeting.

The resolution authorizing the appointment was adopted during the meeting as Resolution No. 5; the text cites N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.2 as the enabling statute for the appointment. Vieira subsequently took the oath of office in public and was congratulated by council members.

Mayor Angel Albanese and several council members praised Vieiras achievement; the mayor noted Vieira had passed the certified municipal finance officer exam and would assume CMFO duties for the remainder of the year, subject to renewal per statute. "Congratulations to our CFO, Christy Vieira, who passed her certified municipal officer test and will be appointed as our CMFO, hopefully, this evening by the council," Mayor Albanese said during his remarks.

No vote details on salary or contract terms were discussed at the meeting beyond the formal appointment and oath; staff said standard municipal hiring and appointment provisions apply.
