The Gage County Board of Supervisors voted May 28 to accept a bid from Zollner Ford of Beatrice for a 2024 Ford 1-ton, four-wheel-drive, regular-cab pickup with a box for $44,999.

County staff reviewed multiple bids received for the county pickup spec and recommended the Zollner Ford bid, noting that the vehicle is in stock and available for prompt delivery. Supervisor Jurgens moved to accept the bid; Supervisor Dorn seconded. The motion carried 6-0.

Board members thanked local dealers for submitting bids and noted one out-of-town dealer also participated. County staff said the county will put a flatbed on the vehicle later and that having a boxed truck in stock made timing easier.
