The Scott County Board of Education approved a series of affiliation agreements and memoranda of understanding with colleges, universities and community partners meant to support student services and clinical placements.
At the meeting the board voted to approve a clinical education affiliation agreement with the University of Kentucky; memoranda of agreement with Bluegrass Community & Technical College and Kentucky State University; and an agreement with Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation (KSTC). The board also approved a school-based health clinic agreement with Georgetown Community Hospital after staff noted exhibits and dates would be finalized by the superintendent.
Board members moved and seconded the motions and each passed by voice vote. In discussions, staff framed these approvals as routine partnerships that provide clinical placements, dual-credit pathways and health services to students. The board also approved a memorandum related to dual credit with UK Next Generation Scholars and other specialized services agreements, including an orientation and mobility agreement and music therapy services.
Superintendent Billy Parker and central-office staff said the agreements align with district priorities for career and technical education, student health services and dual-credit expansion. The school-based clinic contract will be finalized by the superintendent and is intended to support on-site student health services for the upcoming school year.
All approvals were recorded as motions that carried; staff will complete final exhibits and implementation steps as required by each agreement.
