Board re‑elects Phil Wiesner as chair, names Derek Foxworth vice chair and sets meetings to start at 6:30 p.m.

At the July meeting the Silver Falls School District Board re‑elected Phil Wiesner as board chair and Derek Foxworth as vice chair. The board followed a nominations and roll‑call voting procedure: a nomination and second for Wiesner passed with the board saying “ayes have it,” and Foxworth was likewise nominated and elected vice chair.

Later in the meeting the board reviewed a draft activities and budget calendar and discussed whether to change the meeting start time from 7:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Board members said an earlier start helps members and staff who travel from work and the board voted to adopt the calendar with a 6:30 p.m. start time.

The board conducted the votes by roll call and voice votes and recorded the outcome as passed; there was no further discussion on the leadership assignments or calendar change beyond confirming member availability.
