The Claiborne County Board of Supervisors on Aug. 18 opened three bids for a planned fitness trail. Wagner Engineering reported three complete proposals: Wildstone Construction Services LLC ($92,800), Hayes General LLC ($94,600) and Imperial Construction ($97,500).
Jamie McKennis of Wagner Engineering read bid documents aloud and confirmed required forms such as the certificate of responsibility, bid bonds and non-collusion affidavits had been submitted. “Wild Stone… $92,800 is the apparent low bidder,” McKennis said; engineering staff said they would verify signatures, math and compliance and return a recommendation to the board.

Wagner Engineering said it would complete the administrative review and expected to have the math and verifications done by the end of the day and a recommendation later in the week. The board voted to take the information under advisement and to receive a recommendation from the engineer.
