The Eagle Pass City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a resolution formally supporting a four‑lane, divided expansion of Highway 574 and to forward the resolution to the Texas Department of Transportation and state legislators to help speed the project.

City staff told the council that engineers working on the Highway 574 design said broad consensus among local governments is important for accelerating the project. The resolution mirrors similar coordinated efforts on other local projects, including the Loop 480 and Sol Ross improvements, staff said.
