The Elko County Board of Fire Commissioners accepted a donation July 2 of a storage shed from Dennis and Jan Peterson for use by the Elko County Fire Protection District. Chief Matt Peterson said his parents are building a new garage and offered the existing shed to the district; he asked the board to accept the gift so there would be no public confusion if county equipment was stored there.

The board approved acceptance by voice vote and members suggested the district provide a thank-you letter or card to the donors.
