The Elko County Regional Transportation Commission authorized distribution of $40,952 to the City of Wells on Wednesday for a curb, gutter and sidewalk project on Shoshone Avenue.

Jason Pengelly, representing the City of Wells, asked the commission for the city’s apportionment to fund curb, gutter and sidewalk work and to repair asphalt that will be cut during the project. “We’re doing a curb gutter and sidewalk project on Shoshone Avenue and would need these funds to do a patchback in repair of the asphalt that’s being cut,” Pengelly said.

A commissioner moved to authorize the distribution for the city’s apportionment request in the amount discussed; the motion was seconded and carried with those present voting in favor.

The commission recorded the allocation in its meeting minutes. Additional project schedule details were not specified in the public discussion and will be managed by the City of Wells and its contractors.
