Members of the district FFA chapter presented to the board on March 18 about the program’s history, leadership opportunities and career pathways into agriculture and industry. A staff member noted the FFA chapter is the district’s “longest standing and most widely participated in” CTE activity and cited alumni who went to colleges including Boise State and the University of Nevada, Reno.

FFA students described hands‑on shop work, livestock judging and leadership workshops that build skills in welding, fabrication, engines and basic construction. “FFA is about teamwork and about leadership. FFA is also about friendship. FFA is an opportunity for personal growth,” a student presenter said.

District staff and trustees also reviewed results from multiple CTSOs (career and technical student organizations). The superintendent read a multi‑school list of state qualifiers and winners across organizations including HOSA (health occupations), FCCLA, FBLA and FFA; several individual students and chapters qualified for national competitions. Trustees congratulated students and advisors and thanked community judges and volunteers who support regional competitions.

No board action was taken; the presentations and recognitions were placed on the record and board members said they appreciate the CTE programs’ role in student engagement and career pathways.
