The Northampton Conservation Commission heard an update on March 27 that a permanent agricultural preservation restriction (APR) for Bollinger Farm is moving forward and is expected to be finalized by April. Staff said the APR will place a permanent restriction on the entire Bollinger Farm on both sides of North Farms Road.

Commission staff said the arrangement was unusual because the city will be a signatory without providing financial contribution; the nonprofit Kestrel secured the funding needed to complete the restriction. Commissioners welcomed the news. Staff also noted a recent birth of calves at the farm in an unrelated, informal update.
