The Norwood Planning Board approved a site-plan review application on Feb. 24 to allow a sign replacement at 52 Broadway. The application proposed replacing the existing face with a 3/4-inch PVC sign mounted to the existing aluminum cabinet; the cabinet finish will be matte black and the sign will not be illuminated.
The chair called for the applicant to describe the work. An applicant who identified himself as Ricky, a site contractor, told the board the new sign “is the same exactly as the existing one” and that the proposal does not add illumination. Planning staff confirmed the sign dimensions conformed to the zoning and site standards.
Board members had no substantive objections and voted in roll call to approve the sign site-plan review application. Board members recorded on the roll call as voting in favor were Brady Petchikowski (aye), Joe Shea (aye), Rob Bamber (aye) and Brian Petchik (aye). The application includes no change in illumination or size; staff noted no further site modifications were required.
Ending: The applicant was cleared to proceed with the non-illuminated sign replacement; planning staff will issue permits consistent with the approved dimensions and the town’s sign regulations.
