The State and Local Government Committee recommended a due pass on House Concurrent Resolution 3025, a concurrent resolution honoring the police and first responders of Fargo, North Dakota.
Representative Joseph Hendricks, the member who presented the measure, told the committee he did not provide written testimony because he considered the resolution "pretty straightforward." He added personal remarks about his family’s experience with law enforcement and noted the family of those directly affected had reviewed the language and were "happy with the language."
Stephanie Ingebretson appeared for the Chiefs of Police Association and the North Dakota League of Cities and said she had "really don't have more to say than that" in support of the resolution and stood for questions.
After brief committee comment and no opposition on the record, Senator Brownberger moved a due pass and Senator Wallen seconded. The clerk called the roll; the committee recorded a 6-0 vote in favor. Senator Brownberger volunteered to carry the resolution to the floor.
The committee closed the hearing with no further testimony on the measure.
The resolution now moves toward floor consideration under the committee’s due-pass recommendation.
