President Neil Westrick opened the society’s April meeting and read the agenda items. The minutes from the March 15 meeting were read and, after a call for corrections, were accepted as read.
Westrick and meeting volunteers thanked multiple members who supplied refreshments, helped with communications and assisted with society operations. The meeting recorded the death of member Barry Lehman and noted his private service would be held the same day.
The treasurer was absent; a society member who spoke on finances reported there has been confusion in the newsletter that appears to have caused some people to pay membership dues more than once and said the issue is being addressed. The speaker did not provide a clear, confirmed total of paid members at the meeting.
Organizers announced upcoming programs and events: BJ Miller presented at the April meeting; author Jeff Larsh is scheduled for May; an open house was set to follow the meeting and the society will participate in the strawberry festival on June 14 from 12 to 4 p.m. Westrick also mentioned planned July and June programs and invited members to the museum displays.
Darren Cliff, identified at the meeting as Park Project Manager, summarized work in Morgan Township Community Park, saying several projects are finished (including benches and walking trails) and describing progress on remaining work. Cliff and Westrick noted an ongoing need for donations to complete memorial tree and garden projects.
No formal votes or budget approvals were recorded at the meeting beyond acceptance of the March minutes. Attendees were invited to view the museum displays and to report local historical features to society volunteers for follow‑up.
