At the April 8, 2025, meeting the Greater Clark County Schools Board of Trustees approved contracts intended to secure pricing for major components of the River Ridge Middle School project and heard a construction progress report for two new elementary schools.
The board approved a contract between Greater Clark County Schools and Perfection Group for HVAC work at River Ridge Middle School, reported in the meeting at $9,756,798 and described by staff as funded through the approved project budget. Trustees later approved a separate Perfection Group contract for roofing work on the same project, reported at $5,166,721.
Perfection Group’s role, as described at the meeting, includes preparing bid specifications, soliciting and scoring bids, overseeing subcontractors and monitoring onsite work. Staff told trustees Perfection Group will be accountable for bid administration and contractor performance on these projects.
Board members also approved a contract with Bauer Property Management LLC related to the Pike site: the district will allow a temporary placement and moving of a dirt pile and agreed to clean and restore the site when work is complete. The transcript records the agreement as a nominal dollar amount ("it was a dollar").
Construction updates: staff and project representatives showed progress photos for Charlestown and Pike elementaries. Highlights in the presentation included: Duke Energy recently powered up the Charlestown building’s main switch; gyms at both sites have sound panels and hoops installed; kitchen servery equipment is in place at Charlestown; gym floors were reported to have arrived and will be acclimating before installation; exterior metal panel installation was noted approximately 90% complete at Charlestown and further behind at Pike because of material lead times.
Why it matters: staff said securing pricing now helps protect the district from expected equipment and material price increases and helps keep the multi‑project construction schedule on track.
Board action: the record shows motions and seconding for the HVAC contract (mover recorded as "Mr. Freer," second as "Miss Mistake" in the transcript) and voice approval for the roofing and site contracts; the transcript records trustees responding “aye.”
