The Senate Committee on Administration certified the list of bills recommended for placement on the April 16, 2025 local and uncontested calendar after removing several items the chair said were ‘‘not proper for the calendar.’'
Committee staff and the chair identified seven bills removed from the calendar list: SB 1255, SB 1261, SB 1316, SB 1559, SB 1806, SB 2037 and SB 2143. During the roll-through of the proposed list, Senator Eckhart objected to SB 1124 (described in committee as relating to discovery in criminal cases and representing a substantive departure from the Michael Morton Act) and raised concern about SB 1506 (relating to the frequency with which the Board of Pardons and Paroles would reconsider inmates for parole). Both bills were removed from the recommended local and uncontested calendar.
After those removals, Senator Hinojosa moved to certify the list with the specified exceptions. The clerk called the roll and the committee recorded six ayes and zero nays; the April 16, 2025 local and uncontested list was certified. The committee then recessed.
