WENATCHEE, Wash. — The Wenatchee City Council approved a professional-services contract with engineering firm Gray & Osborne to perform a focused utility study of the Millardale area around the high school.
Darcy Browning, utility project manager, said the study will include hydraulic modeling of water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure, identify pipe-capacity issues, and create a capital-improvement list the city can add to future budgets. "These professional services will include a hard look at what we call the Millardale area around the high school," Browning said.
Browning told the council the study is intended to provide the technical detail the city needs to advise developers and prioritize projects when growth or redevelopment occurs. She said the study will also complement nearby work already under way at the Millardale bridge canal crossing but will cover a larger area around Red Apple Road and the high school.
A motion to approve the Gray & Osborne contract and authorize the city administrator to sign passed on the council floor by voice vote; the meeting record did not include individual roll-call votes.
