Under human resources the board approved a set of appointments, supplemental contracts and leaves as read into the record. The packet included dozens of items: summer preschool assessment contracts (5), summer school teacher contracts (13), extended-school-year certified staff contracts (7), extended-school-year special-education aide contracts (15), NREA supplemental contracts (58), non-NREA supplemental contracts (20), support staff substitute contracts (34), extended-day contracts (20), ESY bus driver/bus aide contracts (19), hourly tutor contracts (2), and certified staff leaves (10). Several other personnel actions (certified appointments, resignations and support-staff adjustments) were handled in the same motion.
During the communications report, the board accepted donated funds and in-kind gifts from local businesses and groups for athletics, school programs and testing needs; donors named in the meeting included RW Beckett Corp., Anderson Process, O'Neil Healthcare, Rydell, RGI Creative, North Coast Eye Care, Poppy's Popcorn, GEON Performance Solutions and NREA, among others. The report itemized amounts and in-kind items for multiple school activities and booster support.
Buildings-and-operations items reported that the district will renew its annual food-service agreement with Aramark. Administration also noted the district offers optional student insurance through Love Insurance Agency; the option was described as at no cost to the district.
A motion to approve the human-resources items in one reading was moved by Mister Haines and seconded by Mister Bergstank; roll call recorded approval. The meeting packet indicated the human-resources items had first been presented for review and were moved to action during the meeting.
