Sewer staff told the Bridal Operations Committee on April 25 that lift-station control-panel replacements, a cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) sewer lining program and lagoon maintenance are priorities for the sewer budget.
Staff described roughly $297,000 in aggregate needs for control-panel and starter upgrades across several stations: Indian Hills ($71,000), Brush Creek ($52,000), Prison lift station ($58,000) and Lift Stations 1 and 2 (combined sums). Several of the control-panel upgrades were characterized as priority-1 items because wiring and starter equipment are aged and beginning to fail.
A carryover for Lift Station 2 remains in contracts at about $148,399; staff indicated this amount reflects outstanding contract balances. Staff also said Lehi Station 2 work (control cabinet/related items) is expected to finish before the fiscal year closes and recommended removing the $72,000 carryover for that item from next year’s budget if the work completes on schedule.
Sewer staff included a CIPP sanitary-sewer project intended to line aging mains and noted that the $165,000 lagoon maintenance amount is intended to cover sludge handling, ammonia control and other biological treatment needs. Committee members asked staff to reconcile where control‑panel amounts appear in line‑item codes and to ensure amounts are not omitted from the capital section if they are capital projects rather than operating repairs.
Staff will update the worksheets to show the correct line codes and contract balances and return for final prioritization after revenues and carryover confirmations are complete.
