Commissioner Beck told the Allen County Commissioners May 2 that the county and local trail advocates received recognition from the Indiana Greenways Foundation. Beck said the Rivers Horse Trail Group won the foundation’s Group of the Year award and that he received the Outstanding Public Official award.

Beck described the awards program and called the recognition an affirmation of the trail work’s impact on quality of life for the county and surrounding area. Commissioners congratulated Beck and the trail group; Beck noted photos and a press release were available.

No formal board action was required; the remarks appeared under “other business” and were presented as a county update and congratulatory announcement.
