Commissioners consider a Zoom meeting policy and direct staff to place it on a future agenda

Commissioners discussed whether to adopt a formal Zoom meeting policy for remote participation during the July 15 meeting. A staff member suggested passing a resolution to adopt the policy; commissioners asked the clerk to email the draft and place the item on the next business meeting agenda.

One commissioner said the board could pass a resolution if members were comfortable, while others asked for time to review draft language. Commissioners noted that the county already records meetings and that permanent retention of streamed video would require server space; several members said the current recording practice provides sufficient record. No formal vote or resolution was taken at the session.

Clerk staff will circulate the proposed Zoom policy and the item will return to a future agenda for formal consideration.
