The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday signed a resolution declaring August 2025 as Child Support Awareness Month and recognized the county child support team for long service and high collections.
Commissioner Colton Copley read a proclamation that cited 2024 county child support collections of $6,005,185 across 2,738 cases and stated that Ohio’s child support program collaborates with judges, district attorneys, clerks of court, sheriff’s personnel and child support professionals to establish and enforce orders.
The board presented and acknowledged staff with long tenures. The county read a roster that included Missy Holmes with 33 years of service, Noelle Wilson with 31 years (named as Holmes’ replacement as supervisor), Connie Bowell with 30 years, Treva “Dee” Jones with 30 years, Shannon Brown with 26 years, Paula Gilmore with 21 years, Jackie Moats with 12 years, Morgan Bodamer with 10 months and Ricky Fraley with two months; the board also announced Summer Riley as a recent hire.
Why it matters: the proclamation calls attention to the local child support program’s role in supporting families and documents the office’s recent collection figures and staff experience.
Staff and commissioners: presenters said staff are producing outreach materials and noted the office’s high collection totals in recent years. No formal policy action beyond the proclamation was taken during the item.
