The Burleson Independent School District Board of Trustees on Aug. 11 adopted the 2025–26 student code of conduct as presented by district staff.

Leanne Arthur introduced the item and said the code is presented annually to ensure compliance with new legislation. Trustees voted to adopt the code by voice vote with no recorded opposition.

"Tonight I bring to you the student code of conduct. We bring this every year and, take some of the new legislation and make sure that we're compliant with all of that and so we've done that and bring that to you tonight," Arthur said.

The board's adoption confirms the district’s disciplinary and procedural rules for students for the coming year. Staff did not present line-by-line changes during the meeting; they noted the code incorporates changes required by recent legislation and will be applied by campus administrators.

Trustees completed a roll-call style approval by voice vote and the motion passed. District staff will proceed to implement the code for the start of the school year and communicate expectations to families and staff.
