The Allegheny County Ways and Means Committee on July 16 approved a settlement of $7,153.34 with a private citizen for vehicle damage the committee was told occurred when county equipment struck the individual’s car.
The clerk of the board asked the committee to approve the payment and presented the claim amount. A committee member moved to approve, another member seconded, and the motion carried after a brief acknowledgement that county property caused the damage.
Committee members did not request additional documentation during the public discussion. The committee approved the payment and carried the motion.
