Glynn County commissioners choose chair, vice chair and ratify committee appointments

The Glynn County Board of Commissioners unanimously elected Commissioner Rafalski as chair and selected Wayne Neal as vice chair during the Jan. 2 meeting.

Following the leadership votes, the board announced committee and agency assignments and then moved to ratify those appointments. Commissioners voted to ratify appointments and chair assignments for standing committees, including the Board of Health, Brunswick Area Transportation System, Coastal Regional Commission, Joint Water and Sewer, finance, pension and personnel and various local agencies. The motion to ratify the appointees was made, seconded and approved by show of hands.

Specific assignments announced included: Booker to the Board of Health and to chair finance; Duncan to Brunswick Area Transportation System; Tosteson to the Coastal Regional Commission and to chair pension; Neal named for Joint Water and Sewer and as vice chair; Sweatt assigned to the Golden Isles Convention and Visitors Bureau; and the Brunswick–Glynn County Development Authority and Brunswick Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce assignments were announced by the chair. The county airport authority appointment was listed for Commissioner Neal.

The board then moved to ratify chair assignments for those subcommittees; motions were made, seconded and approved. No votes were recorded against the ratifications in the meeting record.
