Officer arrests woman with outstanding warrants; booked on new drug charge

Just after 6:30 p.m. on the thirteenth, MVPD said an officer recognized a woman who had outstanding warrants and took her into custody after she exited a business restroom. The arrest is notable because the officer identified outstanding warrants and added a new controlled-substance charge, expanding the case beyond the warrants. According to the department's monthly audio summary, the officer recognized the woman and waited for her to exit the bathroom; the department said the woman "was booked for her 7 outstanding warrants as well as new charges of possession of a controlled substance."
