Scottsburg’s Board of Works approved a set of personnel actions, including a correction to a previously reported start date and several new hires.
Staff asked that minutes be changed to reflect a corrected start date for Lillian Humphrey from Aug. 5 to Aug. 11; the board accepted the correction with no formal vote required. The board then considered approvals for multiple new employees.
Staff reported that Daffer Ydeen is hired for maintenance at the Mid‑America Science Park with a start date of Aug. 15, 2025, and that a water distribution operator, Brandon, will start Aug. 18, 2025. Staff said both hires will receive prorated cell‑phone stipends for August and related prorated benefits for the remainder of the pay period or year, as appropriate.
Staff also described a part‑time parks employee who will take on added duties as the Mid‑America Science Park senior concierge on an as‑needed basis; staff said those hours and payments come from a different budget line. A council member moved to approve the personnel slate; the motion was seconded and approved by the members present.
Staff did not provide salary amounts for the new employees during the meeting; prorated benefits and phones were described but exact dollar amounts were not read into the record.
