The Lewisburg City Council approved Resolution 25‑20 on Sept. 9 to accept payments in lieu of taxes from the Lewisburg Electric System for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026.
Councilman Burrows moved to accept the funds; the motion included amounts to be paid to the city and to Marshall County. The roll call on the motion recorded unanimous approval.
The resolution accepts funds transferred from the electric utility in lieu of property taxes and related distributions to county government as required by the utility’s payment schedule. The council did not amend the payment amounts during the meeting; staff will record the receipt and proceed with accounting for the funds.
