Council approves mobile food vendor for Bee’s Motorsports car show Sept. 6

The Richmond City Council approved a special event request to allow a mobile food vendor at Bee’s Motorsports and Vance Tire’s car show and burnout contest on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

City staff told the council the request covers a mobile food vendor at 67290 Main Street to serve attendees of the car show and burnout contest, an event that Advanced Tire has sponsored at the location in prior years and that in recent events has included a car show.

A councilmember moved to approve the request; the motion was seconded, and the mayor called for the vote. The mayor announced the motion passed.

During the brief discussion a councilmember noted there were already multiple food vendors in the area and raised the hope that the applicant had coordinated with existing vendors; no formal condition was added to the approval and council members took no further action.

The approval authorizes the mobile food vendor to operate during the listed hours on Sept. 6. The council did not conduct a roll-call vote in the transcript; the mayor recorded the outcome verbally.
