The Elkhorn Area School District Board of Education approved multiple personnel actions, accepted several retirements and enacted revisions to the support-staff handbook and salary schedules.

The board thanked long-serving employees including Kathy Kichnall (31 years) and Rhonda Crum (28 years) for their service and approved a slate of personnel recommendations and coaching appointments listed on the personnel sheet, contingent on background checks and mandated drug screening. A motion to approve the personnel recommendation sheet passed by voice vote.

Board members also approved a revised support-staff employee handbook that incorporates wage rates the board had previously approved. Separately, the board approved salary and wage adjustments for supervisors, administrators and central-office support staff; those changes were discussed in the district's prior budget meeting and were approved in open session.

Board members instructed staff to implement the approved wages and to process new employment contracts conditioned on background checks and district-mandated screening.
