The city manager's report on Aug. 4 included updates from the public works division on ongoing and upcoming street projects. Staff reported that the West Boydston reconstruction (Boydston construct reconstruction) will begin pre-construction coordination on the 19th and is expected to kick off in September; during the project the road will be one-way to preserve property access and speed construction.

Public works staff (Amy) said North Lakeshore and Forest Trace remain in design and survey phases. City crews completed nine alley-repair projects in July, and Kaufman, Rusk and Tyler streets should be finished before the start of school; crews will then move to MEMS. Staff also noted ongoing utility moves on county and state projects and confirmed saw cutting began on Henry Chandler Drive.

The city manager said the only nonresidential property affected along West Boydston is First Baptist Church and that staff will meet with church leadership to coordinate around service times and funerals. Council members expressed appreciation for the additional commentary included in the monthly report. No formal council action was taken; the update was provided as information.
