The council approved a resolution supporting a Texas Department of Transportation Transportation Alternatives application for Phase 2 of the Midlothian to Waxahachie Regional Trail, authorizing the mayor or city manager to execute necessary documents.
The Waxahachie City Council on Monday approved a resolution supporting an application to the Texas Department of Transportation for Transportation Alternatives Program funding to advance Phase 2 of the Midlothian-to-Waxahachie Regional Trail.
City staff said the preliminary application — submitted in February — was favorably received by TxDOT and the city was invited to submit a detailed application. The proposed Phase 2 alignment runs from FM 875 to U.S. 287 near Wyler Lemon STEAM Academy, staff told the council.
Council voted to authorize the mayor and/or city manager to execute documents necessary to support the application.
Staff said the detailed application will include project maps and scope information and that TxDOT’s process requires a municipal resolution of support before submission of final materials.
