Director of Schools Annette Tudor told the board on July 21 that Allyson Rutherford is one of nine Teacher of the Year finalists at the state level and that Tennessee High will receive the next therapy dog, sponsored by Friendship Enterprises. Tudor also announced the district calendar details: teachers return to work Monday, July 28; a districtwide inservice is scheduled for Tuesday, July 29; the first two-hour student day is Aug. 4 and the first full student day is Aug. 5.
