Committee members confirmed planning details for two fall events and requested a city proclamation for display. The Butterfly Party is scheduled for Sept. 27; organizers said butterfly supplies have been ordered and volunteers have been recruited, and that they will solicit additional adult-education experts and share an Amazon supplies list.

The committee set the citywide Fall Sweep dates for Nov. 3 through Nov. 16. Members said the two-week event will ask residents and the Adopt-a-Spot volunteers to report cleanup totals for submission to Keep Texas Beautiful. Supplies for Fall Sweep have been ordered and are expected to arrive shortly before the events, members said.

A committee representative said they requested that the city place a proclamation on the forthcoming city council agenda so a framed copy can be displayed at the Butterfly Party. Members noted prior years’ proclamations were displayed at events and asked staff to secure a similar presentation copy this year.

No formal motions were made during the planning discussion; members confirmed volunteer staffing and logistics and will present the proclamation at the next city council meeting, which they said is scheduled for the following Tuesday.
