Board considers TRIO and Purdue dual‑credit renewals for 2025–26

Trustees heard briefings on two postsecondary partnership renewals the district plans to bring forward for approval: a TRIO contract (talent search services partnered with Purdue University) that supports first‑generation college aspirants in middle and high school, and a dual‑credit memorandum of understanding with Purdue that would allow students to earn college credit through district courses in the 2025–26 school year.

Administrators described TRIO as a partner focused on college access and stated the dual‑credit MOU offers dual enrollment opportunities for the coming school year. Trustees asked clarifying questions about the renewals, but no substantive operational changes were raised in the work session. Trustees also asked whether college credits earned through partner programs appear on student transcripts and were told credits earned via partner universities become part of the student’s record and can transfer to other institutions depending on the receiving college's transfer policies.
