The Kennedale City Council on July 15 voted to table consideration of raising the city manager’s spending limit to $50,000 until the next meeting so the city manager can attend.

Councilwoman Thelma Kobeck moved to table the item and asked that City Manager Hull be present for the discussion. Council members discussed briefly and acknowledged that state law permits a municipal spending limit up to $100,000, but the council chose to defer a decision until the manager can participate.

The motion to table passed unanimously. No further action on the spending limit occurred at the meeting.
