Commissioners approve two-lot subdivision; larger lot remains agricultural
Summary
A proposed minor subdivision creating a ~15‑acre lot rezoned to rural residential and a 146.25‑acre lot to remain agricultural was approved; recordation contingent on zone-change approval.
Williams County commissioners voted Sept. 2 to approve a minor subdivision that will create two lots from a roughly 160-acre agricultural parcel in Missouri Ridge Township. County planning staff presented LU-0070-25 on behalf of Ed Rentomaki representing Steve and Charlene Jensen. The draft plat would create a roughly 15-acre lot and a 146.25-acre lot; the smaller lot is proposed for rezoning to rural residential while the larger lot would remain in the agricultural zoning district. Staff said the parent parcel is about 160 acres and access is from County Road 7 (140th Avenue Northwest). The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval, and the board moved, seconded and approved the zoning change and subdivision with affirmative roll-call votes. Recordation of the plat will be contingent on approval of the zone change and completion of the county’s review process, the staff report said. No township objection or public comment was recorded in the staff presentation at the meeting.
