The Williams County Board of County Commissioners on Sept. 2 took several routine administrative actions: appointing a county designee to the tuition appeals committee, authorizing the chairman to sign a lease with the state BCI office and acknowledging repayment of previously donated funds.
Helen asked that the board formally appoint Patty Ogerczyk as the county designee to the tuition appeals committee, a statutorily required panel that includes the county attorney and the superintendent of schools. Helen said the committee had not met in years and that Jody Johnson’s departure left the superintendent’s designee slot unfilled; Patty is the designated designee. A commissioner moved, seconded and the board approved the appointment by roll-call vote.
County staff also sought authorization for the chairman to sign the lease with the Office of the Attorney General for the BCI office that rents space in a county building; the board approved the lease and authorized the chairman to sign.
Helen also reported that the county received a refund in June for previously donated funds tied to an NDSU Extension greenhouse project (referenced from an earlier May conversation). She said Lindsay handled the correspondence and the return of funds “closed the loop” on that earlier discussion.
