The Alexander County Board of Education unanimously approved Aug. 11 using Encore to install paging systems at Wittenberg and Hidden Heights elementary schools, following a brief recommendation from Technology Coordinator Kim Bishop.

"I would ask tonight that you approve using Encore for both those projects," Bishop told the board, describing competitive bids and recommending Encore for both schools. Board Member Oxendine moved to approve and Vice Chairman Degenhardt seconded; the motion carried by unanimous voice vote.

No dollar amounts or contract terms were discussed at the open-session motion. The board recorded the item as part of the consent/regular agenda and approved it without additional debate.
