Gaithersburg residents voting in the Nov. 4, 2025 municipal election were given a schedule and instructions at the Sept. 2 Mayor and City Council meeting.
A council member announced that the city will conduct a hybrid election. All registered voters will receive a mail-in ballot application; distribution of applications begins Friday, Sept. 5. Approved mail-in ballots will be mailed starting Friday, Oct. 3. Voters may return mail-in ballot applications by U.S. Postal Service, drop them off at city hall, or complete them electronically on the city’s elections webpage. The city will operate one in-person vote center at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, 506 South Frederick Avenue, and will maintain seven ballot drop-box locations throughout the city. The city is offering same-day voter registration for the 2025 election.
For registration confirmation and additional information the council directed residents to contact the Montgomery County Board of Elections and to visit the city’s elections webpage. The council member closed the announcement by noting the schedule and procedural options and encouraging residents to consult the city website for full details.
No formal action or vote was taken by the council on this announcement; it was presented as administrative election information to inform residents and voters.
