The School Board unanimously approved a contract with the Carson Scholars Fund to create a Ben Carson Reading Room at Timber Trace Elementary. The agenda item was added for “good cause” so the project could begin within the timeframe requested by the foundation, and board members said the program benefits students.
Board member Marsha Andrews said she was “thrilled” about adding another Ben Carson Reading Room to the county’s schools. The motion to approve was made by Frank Barbieri and seconded by Marsha Andrews and passed without opposition.
