The Johnson County Board of Supervisors on July 24 approved the Livable Community for Successful Aging Policy Board’s recommendation to transfer funds from the Livable Community for Successful Aging Endowment Fund to the Friends of the Iowa City Senior Center Senior Center Endowment Fund, which is held by the Community Foundation of Johnson County.

Supervisor Remington moved approval; Supervisor Lisa Green Douglas seconded. Chairperson John Green and both supervisors voted aye and the motion carried 3-0.

The board’s action authorized the transfer but did not specify the dollar amount of the funds to be moved at the meeting. The item was presented as a recommendation from the Livable Community for Successful Aging Policy Board; the board authorized the administrative step of transferring the endowment funds to a community-held endowment managed by the Community Foundation of Johnson County.
